Emotion
The light of love, spreading its warmth through your entire being.
The firestorm of anguish, tormenting your heart and mind.
The depth of grief, thrusting daggers of bittersweet memories.
The relief of peace, ushering in tranquility and calm.

I envisioned this painting for months before bringing it to life. As I walked through various stages of grief, loss, and heartbreak, I wanted to capture the turbulence during the deepest parts of those emotions. Initially, I was envisioning how I would express the storm of grief. But as time passed, I started picturing a full progression from light and love through heartbreak and grief, into the peace of God.
I pulled out a set of six canvases which had been sitting half finished for years, I completely transformed them into a new expressive and abstract piece.
This is actually my first abstract piece and I love it! I hung the piece above my bed, and it is a reminder of how emotions are not a permanent place, we progress through emotion, but it is always important to give yourself space to sit in your emotions, to process and work through them, without being consumed.
